Want to discover new activities and thrill sports? Welcome to our dedicated article! We listed 17 out of the ordinary experiences to try for thrill seekers! For you, we have sorted this article from light to serious difficulty! Discover with us these unusual activities:
The original and sensational activities (Light difficulty)
Did you know that there are many original activities that you can practice or test without any specific training? We suggest 7 activities of “easy” difficulty that can give you a good dose of thrill:
Tree climbing
Many parks offer this sport that can be done by the youngest and the oldest. The accrobranche is an activity that follows a course in the trees. Depending on the park and the level, these courses are more or less complex, high, and difficult.
Parasailing
This activity is practiced in summer and consists of being lifted in the air from a platform on land or water. You will then be towed by a boat over the water. This activity can be done on lakes as well as on the sea or ocean, and it is the first step towards aerial sports.
Rock climbing
Climbing consists of climbing an artificial or natural wall with the help of holds and safety equipment that allows you to be sure. It can be done indoors, in activity complexes, or clubs. It can also be done in the wilderness; in this case, you will need a little more training and education.
The Via Ferrata
It is a sport itinerary located along a rock face, mixing both climbing and courses like those known in accrobranche (zip line, bridges…). The sensations are increased tenfold by the height and the beauty of a generally invasive nature. There are many Via Ferrata courses in France, and their difficulty differs according to the place and your level.
The helicopter
By this, we don’t mean driving it, but enjoying a helicopter ride (which, by the way, will not require any training). There are many clubs in France where you can find a helicopter ride. Depending on your budget, the tours are more or less long, and you discover the world from another angle!
Rafting
Rafting is a water sport that consists in going down fast waters. Here, we are not on the simple descent of river in canoe-kayak. We choose places where the water is agitated because of the slope, and the presence of rocks, but where in any case, the current makes itself known! Rafting spots are classified according to their difficulty, but the activity is accessible to all.
Scuba diving
As a last original activity, we suggest scuba diving. There are several diving disciplines, some of which are accessible to everyone. You can discover the underwater world in a lake, river, or open sea.
Thrill experiences (Medium difficulty)
Among the activities that will require either a slight mental or physical preparation, we have selected 6. Here, the difficulty is medium, you may have to make some efforts, and in some cases, you may not succeed on the first attempt. Here are the activities that we recommend:
Bungee jumping
Bungy jumping is a discipline that needs no introduction. It consists of throwing yourself into the void from a high platform (a bridge for example). A rubber band will prevent you from touching the ground, and will make you go up. Bungee jumping can require a little mental preparation for people who have a little difficulty launching themselves! It can be unthinkable (or life-saving) for people afraid of heights.
Paragliding
Paragliding cannot be done alone unless you have done many jumps and are certified to do so. However, a paragliding experience is a great way to try out the ride without going as far as a skydive. Here, you will need to prepare yourself, even jumping with an instructor, you should not just let yourself go. Generally, you will be asked to help with the take-off and the landing!
Surfing and Sandboarding
Among the activities with sensations, which can be pleasant to realize from the first session, we have surfing (choose acceptable waves, of course!). This sport, which consists of sliding on a wave that rolls up, was developed as a desert, with the Surf on Sand. An activity, once again, for young and old!
Acrobatic caving
Do you know the principle of caving? The fact of visiting caves! Well, in acrobatic caving, we give ourselves some additional difficulties. For example, those of having to climb walls, follow zip lines… Thus, as a kind of Accrogrotte, you will carry out your caving in an unusual way!
Canyoning
Canyoning consists in descending a river in gorges or ravines (hence the abseiling in the Canyon). Here, you will find an activity where rafting, climbing, hiking, and even caving are mixed! An activity that is both physical and out of the ordinary that makes you discover many aspects of outdoor sports!
Wakeboarding
Wakeboarding is a discipline derived from water skiing that consists in being pulled onto the water and sliding thanks to a board. It is a young sport in constant evolution, accessible to all types of public, and will seduce you quickly.
Activities for thrill seekers (High difficulty)
Among the most extreme activities we offer you, and at the origin of solid sensations, we find 4 activities. Be careful, these may require some preparation beforehand:
Parachute jumping
Among the activities that require little or no training, we have the parachute jump. Simply because you will not jump alone! The only preparation will be psychological in order not to fall into the air at 4000 feet high!
Driving a sports car
Whether you drive it yourself or with a professional driver, driving a racing car is also a thrill! Discover the real sensation of speed on the car of your dreams!
The sailing trip
It will require some preparation but will surely be one of the most beautiful experiences of your life! You can join a crew and start a crossing of the Atlantic (among others) in a sailboat. This unforgettable experience can be done with your family or friends!
Mountaineering
Mountaineering is the last activity that we suggest you to discover intense sensations. This discipline consists of climbing high mountains. It will require some preparation for the highest ones. You will discover the summits of the world and unforgettable landscapes. The discipline can be combined with climbing, trail, and cross-country skiing…
